about

Elza Soares & Lincoln Olivetti, a sonic firecracker to kick off the 1982 summer season. This four-song EP released by RGE with explosive arrangements by Lincoln Olivetti leaves no doubt that it’s one of the fabulous Elza Soares’ best performances. With fiery horn charts and an extraordinary rhythm section, Elza gives two highly memorable performances in “Som, Amor, Trabalho e Progresso” by the late Dom Mita and “Senta A Púa” by the legendary singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Ronaldo Barcelos who also served as an important lyricist for many Olivetti/Jorge compositions over the years.
“Som, Amor, Trabalho e Progresso” was first recorded by Mita in 1977 on a single and on his self-titled LP on the Continental label. Later, in 1984, with a few changes in the lyrics and retitled “Eu Chego Lá” it was also recorded by Bebeto (and arranged by Olivetti) on his Magicamente LP.

Each and every release on the label was meant to illustrate the musical taste of the collective. ... more
